On Tuesday March 15, 2016 His Eminence Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patrirchal Delgate for the Eastern United States, along with clergy from diocese attended the Standing Conference of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in America (SCOOCH). The meeting was hosted by the Coptic Orthodox Church at Virgin Mary & St. Pachomius Church in Stony Point, New York.
The meeting began with a prayer service, led by His Eminence Jean Kawak. The attending clergy discussed ongoing dialogue of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in America. The attending clergy plan to hold a co-celebrated prayer service for our kidnapped bishops of Aleppo in the coming months.
Archbishop His Eminence Mor Titus Yeldho participated representing Malankara Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese of North America.
Clergy of the Syriac Orthodox Archdiocese in attendance included V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, Pastor of St. Mark in Teaneck, NJ and V. Rev. Fr. Gabriel Adde, Pastor of St. Peter in Hicksville, NY and St. George in Brooklyn, NY.
