On July 11, 2016 and under the auspices of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar of the Eastern United States, the Suryoyo Camp 2016 was launched in New Jersey, hosting 150 junior Suryoye youth from the parishes of the Eastern Archdiocese for six weeks.
On Wednesday July 13, His Eminence accompanied with priests and deacons, celebrated the Holy Liturgy at the camp’s location, delivered a spiritual sermon in an interactive way with campers, and focused on the importance of such activities to build Suryoyo community life.
The camp’s program which is set up and administrated by several syriac youth volunteers includes spiritual education, bible studies, learning syriac hymns as well as sports activities.
