Memorial Service for East Brook Middle School in Paramus, NJ

25 May

On the evening of Thursday, May 24th, 2018, under the auspices of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, a memorial service was held for the Paramus, NJ community following last week’s tragic bus accident that took the lives of both teacher and student, Miss Miranda Vargas and Mrs. Jennifer Williamson, of East Brook Middle School.

Several councilmen joined us for the memorial prayer: Senator Jerry Cardinale, Assemblyman Bob Auth, Freeholders Chairman Tom Sullivan, Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera, Glen Rock Mayor Bruce Packer, Bergenfield Mayor Norman Schmelz, Northvale Mayor Ed Peihler, Westwood Mayor Jon Kirkner, Paramus Councilman Ralph Amato, and Montclair Mayor Mike Ghassali.

All of the speakers, including His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, expressed their condolences for the families of the departed and prayed for the healing of the injured, showing their full support for the Paramus community, especially during this difficult time.

The families of the victims and the injured survivors will need all of the healing and strength that they can get to help them through this heartbreaking tragedy. It could even provide families with more comfort if they decide to look into what they should do next, such as contacting a law firm in their area similar to lamber goodnow who will be able to help give them the relevant help and support they may need when making a wrongful death claim, or a compensation claim to help with any medical bills they have been left with due to the seriousness of their injuries. Having them in your prayers can help guide them through this difficult time.

A group of people from our Syriac community, who are also Paramus residents, expressed their support by attending the memorial.
