The Virgin Mary’s Girdle, “Holy Zunoro,” at Mor Athanasius Parish in Tarpon Springs, Florida

On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Qurbono Liturgy at Mor Athanasius Church in Tarpon Springs, FL. His Eminence was assisted by Rev. Father John Kouki, the Parish Priest, and Rev. Father Rami Muamar, the Parish Priest of the Mother of God of the Zunoro in Jacksonville, in the presence of Rev. Father Eli Shabo.

During the Holy Liturgy, celebrated on the occasion of the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus to Heaven and the Feast of the Virgin Mary for the Blessing of the Crops, His Eminence blessed the congregation with the Relic of the Virgin Mary’s Girdle (Holy Zunoro), which was brought from our Church of the Mother of God of the Zunoro in Jacksonville, FL.

In his sermon, His Eminence spoke about the two occasions; firstly, the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus to Heaven, and, secondly, the Feast of the Virgin Mary for the Blessing of the Crops. He also thanked Rev. Father John Kouki for his hard work in organizing this celebration with the help of the Parish Council and all of the church’s organizations. He also thanked Rev. Father Rami Muamar and the Parish Council for the brotherly collaboration in organizing this celebration.
