“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” 1 John 3:17
Dearly Beloved in Christ:
May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
The Archdiocese Suryoyo Relief and Charity Fund (ASRCF), was established in 1998 to help our Syriac people who are in need, both in the Archdiocese and overseas. This Fund has raised and distributed more than 2,000.000 US Dollars to needy people of our community in the United States, Holy Land, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey. We even helped places where natural disasters hit hard, such as the earthquake in Haiti and the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
We have dealt with a number of Syriac refugees from Iraq and Syria, who have come here in desperate needs, emotionally and financially. Under the supervision of the ASRCF, a special committee, from all the parishes, has been established to specifically work with these refugees.
Through the ASRCF, and the generous donations from our faithful parishioners, we have been able to help many families within the Eastern Diocese; furniture, home goods, clothing, and financial assistance. They have been helped to receive support with social services, transportation for shopping or doctors’ appointments, registering the children in schools, tutorial services and driving lessons. We appreciate the great generosity of our parishioners at this time, and we ask that all efforts be directly coordinated through the committee, so that we can maintain efficiency and confidentiality. Sending money overseas never ceased, and they are grateful recipients.
If you would like to make a donation, or volunteer for the committee, please contact the chairman of the ASRCF, Mr. Biniamin Malki, or the representative from your respective parish.
May the Lord of the Harvest send more workers for His vineyard, and may He richly bless you and your families.
Yours in Christ,
+ Dionysius John Kawak
Archbishop, Patriarchal Vicar
