On Monday September 8, 2014, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in a panel on “Christian Unity and Peace” in the “Peace is the Future Conference” and delivered a lecture entitled: “Christian Unity and Peace: St. Paul’s Call Since the Early Church”.

During His Lecture, His Holiness spoke about the unity in Christian faith and how Christian faithful are united starting with what St. Paul wrote to the Ephesians: “endeavoring for unity in the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4: 3). Following the invitation of the Community of Sant’Egidio, His Eminence Archbishop Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patriarchal Office Director, participated in the “Peace is the Future” Conference held in Antwerp – Belgium from 7 to 9 September 2014.

His Holiness Receives a High Level Delegation from Hezbollah

On September 5, 2014, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received a high level delegation from Hezbollah in the patriarchal residence in Atchaneh, Bikfaya – Lebanon. The delegation included Al-Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Al-Sayed, President of the Political Council in Hezbollah, Mr. Ghaleb Abou Zeynad, Christian Relations Attaché in Hezbollah, and Mr. Ali Al-Hajj Ali, Member of the Political Council in Hezbollah.
