Fr. Saji Thomas is Consecrated a Metropolitan
Rev. Fr. Saji Thomas a member of the clergy of the Archdiocese of the Eastern USA was consecrated a metropolitan for the newly establish diocese of Mylapore in the State of Tamil Nadu, India. The consecration performed by His Beatitude Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicose of India at St. Athanasius Cathedral in the Malankara Syrian Church headquarters, Puthencuriz, Kerala on Monday, January 4, 2010. His Grace was given the Episcopal name of Mor OSTHATHIOS Issac. At the same ceremony another bishop, Mor PHILOXINOS Zacharias was ordained for the diocese of Malabar, Kerala. We congratulate both metropolitans and pray that their ministry will be a blessed and fruitful one.
