In light of the recent government declaration of the H1N1 flu as a national emergency we wish to impress upon you the need to be cautious and take all necessary measures to protect yourselves and your families. Health awareness procedures, available from local civil and medical facilities should be studied and followed by all our congregations.

His Holiness Karakin II Visits His Holiness Mor Ignatius Zakka I

During his visit to Syria the Catholicos of all Armenians, His Holiness Karakin II visited his brother in Christ the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I at the Mor Aphrem Monastery in Ma’arat Saydnaya, Damascus, on Friday November 13, 2009.

His Holiness the Catholicos was received by His Holiness the Patriarch, several Archbishops, clergy and seminarians at the entrance of Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Ordination of Deacons at Mor Gabriel Church, NJ

On Sunday November 28, His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim celebrated Holy Qurbono at Mor Gabriel Church in Hackensack, New Jersey. During the Divine Liturgy His Eminence ordained the following individuals to the rank of Qorooya (Reader) Michael Akyon, Markos Akbulut, Lahdo Akbulut, Lukas Alpar and Emanuel Arik. He also elevated the following Qorooye to the rank of Aphodiakno (Sub-Deacon): Yuhanin Akbulut, Yusuf Alpar, Gabriel Akbulut, Matay Akbulut and Sewarios.

Ordination of Deacons in Southfield, Michigan

During the week-end of November 7-9, 2009 His Eminence Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim made a visit to Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Southfield, MI. On the evening of Saturday the 7th, he met with the parishioners who were gathered in the Church social hall for a family night.

The General Assembly of NCCCUSA

The National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA is holding it’s Annual general assembly in Minneapolis, MN from November 10-13. His Eminence Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim is representing our Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch, which is, an active member of the Council.
