48th Syriac Orthodox Convention, July 21-24, 2011
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I am writing you concerning our upcoming 48th Annual Archdiocesan Convention which was to be hosted by our Canadian Archdiocese. Due to change in plans, the Eastern Archdiocese will host this year’s convention and has begun formulating plans for the weekend of July 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th. We are asking you to mark these dates on your calendar in order to avoid scheduling conflicts. The continuity of these Archdiocesan conventions is important to our Church and your support is much appreciated.
The theme of this year’s convention centers around Psalm 133: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” Brotherly love is the focus of a day trip to Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, will be one of the highlights of the weekend.
I have been truly honored by being asked to Chair this year’s Convention and I will have Elias Sarkar handling all Public Relations and Communications along with Samira Yunan, who as always does an amazing job with Convention Events and Activities.
Shortly, you will be receiving detailed information relative to the weekend. Should you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me or the Archdiocese directly.
In closing and as always, thank you in advance for all your help and continued support of all Archdiocese Activities.
