Our Lord, Jesus Christ, certainly comforts and consoles us with these life-giving promises and inspiring statement and words. He lifts our spirits up and raises our hope and expectations in a second life. To live again and eternally depends upon our belief in Him and in His resurrection.

The Christian Churches Together in the USA held its Annual General Meeting in Memphis, Tennessee February 14-17. His Eminence Archbishop Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim represented our Syriac Orthodox Church who is a founding member of the organization. Archbishop Karim also participated in the meetings of the steering committee of the organization which were held before and during the gathering.
On Wednesday February 15, His Eminence lead the morning prayers according to the tradition of our church.

On Saturday, February 18 , 2012, the Archdiocese Executive Council held its biannual meeting at the upper hall of St. Mark’s Cathedral in Teaneck, N.J. His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim opened the all-day session with a prayer, and welcomed the Executive Council members, the various Board Presidents and parish representatives, members of the Clergy of the Archdiocese and stake holders in the numerous Archdiocesan initiatives on the meeting’s agenda.
The Archbishop thanked Dr. Yamo Deniz, President of the AEC for all that he has done and continues to do in providing the leadership necessary to move the plans of the Archdiocese forward….
This year’s Annual Archdiocesan Convention will be sponsored by St. Aphraim’s Syriac Orthodox Church in Washington, DC. The theme of the 2012 Convention will be “One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church”.

On Sunday, February 5, 2012, His Eminence, Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim, celebrated the Holy Qurobo (Divine Liturgy) at St. James of Nisibin parish in Corpus Christi, Texas. During the well-attended Liturgy Service His Eminence ordained five Qoruye (readers), they included: Malak Jack Afram, Maurice Jack Afram, David George Ghabeli, David Haysam Dawood and Matthew Haysam Dawood.
In his sermon, His Eminence spoke about service to the church. The Archbishop stressed the importance and privilege of the role of deacons in the life of the church. He encouraged the newly ordained Qoruye (readers) to study the Bible, better their relationship with the Lord…
