2012 Syriac Orthodox Youth Convention

After 12 months of hard work and dedication, the outcome of the 2012 Syriac Orthodox Youth Convention can truly be deemed a success! Popular workshops, both spiritual and cultural in nature set the tone of the convention. As usual, there were four workshops in total, and this year we were blessed and honored in having His Eminence Mor Cyril Ephrem Karim, or beloved Archbishop, conduct two workshops on Syriac identity and also on Seyfo. Distinguished Guests of the Archdiocese

On July 3, 2012 His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim was visited at the Archdiocese Complex in Teaneck by their Eminences Mor Timotheos Thomas, Metropolitan of Kottayam; Mor Titus Yeldho, Archbishop of Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America; Mor Silvanos Ayoub, Archbishop of the North America and Europe region of the Knanaya Syrian Orthodox Archdiocese and Mor Gregorios Kuriakose, Metropolitan of the Kallassery region of the Knanaya Syrian Orthodox Archdiocese.

2012 Suryoyo Family Day

In what now has become an annual tradition for the Archdiocese, this year’s Suryoyo Family day drew close to 700 people to what turned out to be a magnificent summer outing held on Sunday, July 15th, the feast day of St. Kiriakos and his mother St. Juliette.

Christian Churches Together Appoints New Leader

The steering committee of Christian Churches Together in the USA, a national organization that brings together churches from all the Christian traditions in the country met in Washington DC, for two days (June 20th and 21st) His Eminence Mor Cyril Aphrem Karim, along with Christian leaders from throughout the United States appointed the Rev. Carlos L. Malave as Executive Director. Rev. Malave has served 11 years as Associate for Ecumenical Relations for the Presbyterian Church (USA).
