Ordination at St. Matthew’s Parish in Sterling Heights

On Sunday, April 18, 2021, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Augeen Alkhouri Nimat, the Parish Priest, in the presence of Very Rev. Father Edward Hanna, celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Matthew the Hermit Syriac Orthodox Church in Michigan, where he ordained a group of deaconesses (Mzamronyotho), singers (Mzamrone), readers (Quroey) and sub-deacons (Afidyakne). During his sermon, Archbishop Kawak first congratulated the congregation on purchasing and renovating their new church building in Sterling Heights, Michigan, he also congratulated the newly ordained deaconesses and deacons instructing them about the real meaning of being a true servant of the church on and off the Holy Altar. Finally, he spoke about the healing of the blind man.
