On Sunday, November 19, 2017, His Eminence Archbishop Mor Dionysius John Kawak, celebrated the Holy Liturgy (Qurobo) at St. John Syriac Orthodox Church in Atlanta, GA.
During the Holy Qurobo, His Eminence ordained the following deacons (shamoshe):
Readers: Dr. Nader Ghazal, Michael Brown, and Alex Kourieh.
His Eminence was assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Saliba Kassis (pastor of the church). In his sermon, His Eminence spoke about the annunciation to Zacharias and instructed the newly- ordained shamoshe about the real meaning of being a servant of the Holy Altar. He also thanked the community for being a beacon of light for the Syriac people in Georgia, then he offered congratulations to the deacons and to their families.
