With great joy and eagerness, the Tuesday Night Bible Study Group looked forward to its first spiritual retreat and were right to feel so excited. The experience of such a spiritual meeting is always unique. Every soul overflows with the love of Jesus and the sense of fellowship unites all of us with our one true God.
On March 9th and 10th, 2018, Tuesday Night Bible Study Group hosted their first spiritual retreat at Spruce Lake in Pennsylvania. The retreat had 20 participants, including the Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi and Youth Director Robert Ayaz.
Friday evening began with dinner together followed by Lecture/ hymns /prayer on our theme, which was “Repentance.” During the 40 minute free time, a bonfire was held outside roasting smores while the snow came down. This was followed with meditation and confession by the Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi. The Friday program ended at 12 a.m., but the spiritual talks and Q & A continued for 3 more hours.
Saturday began with everyone gathering for breakfast together, followed by a lecture given by Robert Ayaz focusing on the theme of “Repentance” again. This was followed by a Q & A and then lunch. This was an opportunity for the youth to disconnect themselves from everyday life and connect with God in a more personal way while having fellowship with one another.
