On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, S.O.Y.E.A (Syriac Orthodox Youth of the Eastern Archdiocese) hosted a lecture night event at the Mor Aphrem Center. Deacon Jake Jacob of the Knanaya Archdiocese of our Syriac Orthodox Chruch who shared his knowledge of the history of our Syriac Church at a lecture that took place in the hall of the Mor Aphrem Center. The lecture was titled Syriac Orthodox Christianity: An Ancient Faith in a Modern World. It was very interesting and addressed many current social issues we face like an ancient and oriental Church in the US and the West today. Deacon Jake showed the significance of our history in relation to modern issues and how we should take refuge in our church to be saved from the many sins of today. We appreciate Deacon Jake’s time and efforts, and all his information that he shared with us and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
