Under the auspices of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, the Educational committee at the Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church for the Eastern of United States held the Annual Sunday School Teachers Retreat at Mor Aphrem Center, New Jersey from 4 to 6 October 2019. Teachers from all over the united states attended.

The theme for our retreat 2019 was “Salt and Light”
we started our day by the morning prayers and a spiritual speech delivered by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak. Workshops presented by Mrs. Colleen O’Brien about the leadership and christian leaders characteristics. To conclude our wonderful day, we gathered in the name of the Lord with Very Rev. Fr. Saliba Kassis to study and reflect on the theme of this year ” To be Salt and Light by bearing witness in our daily life” . It was a weekend filled with love, compassion, growth, understanding and friendship.
