On Sunday, May15, His Eminence Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, accompanied by Very Rev. Fr. Youhanon Sarokhan, paid a pastoral visit to the Parish of St. Mary’s Church in Worcester, MA.
His Eminence celebrated the Holy Liturgy (Qurobo) during which he ordained deacons to the rank of Quroyo (Reader): Zeki Bastug, Emmanuel Bastug, Naheer Lahdo, George Chayogly, Gabriel Bastug and Joseph Bastug; and elevated three deacons to the rank of Aphodyaqno Sub- Deacon): Naim Marriki, Matthew Abraham and Zeki Bastug.
According to the church calendar, this Sunday was the second Sunday after Easter and “the Feast of Virgin Mary on the crops”.
Following the Holy Liturgy and ordination,
His Eminence and newly ordained deacons accepted congratulations of the parishioners. A lunch was offered in the Church hall, prepared by the Bastug family.
