His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated Holy Qurbono on Sunday June 19 at St. Peter’s Church in Hicksville, NY (Long Island). During the sermon His Eminence spoke about the gifts that God provides to us all, that we must all put those gifts to work for His glory and for the benefit of the Holy Church. After the sermon, His Eminence assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel Adde, celebrated the Feast of Pentecost. His Eminence in his prayers asked the Lord to bless the congregation and prayed for their spiritual prosperity and health.
Following the conclusion of Holy Qurbono, His Eminence was led by the choir and deacons who sang the traditional hymn for prelates ‘To bShlomo’, and was welcomed by the entire parish to luncheon in the social hall of the church. His Eminence blessed the parishioners and the food, and congratulated Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel and all the fathers of the parish on the occasion of Father’s Day.
After a festive visit to St. Peter, His Eminence and Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel traveled to St. George Parish in Brooklyn, NY for an evening liturgy.
His Eminence was so excited when he arrived to the church and saw parishioners serving the church out of their love to The Lord. Before the sermon, Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel Adde gave a very warm and beautiful introduction message to His Eminence, welcoming His Eminence to his home in Brooklyn. During his spiritual message, His Eminence mentioned how we are all blessed and called to serve God as Christians, that the flame of the Holy Spirit abides in all of us and must be put to work. His Eminence noted that this was his first visit to both blessed parishes and he looks forward to many more visits in the future, as God wills it. Following the spiritual message, His Eminence and Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel held the Celebration of Pentecost.

His Eminence blessed the parishioners and the food before them, and congratulated Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel and all the fathers of the parish on the occasion of Father’s Day.
