His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at Sts. Peter and Paul in Detroit, Michigan.
He was assisted by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar for the Eastern USA and Very Rev. Fr. Edward Hanna, Pastor of the church in the presence of the clergy of the Archdiocese as well as Archbishop of Mar Touma Chaldean Archdiocese in Detroit Mar Franck Kallabat and guests from other churches. During the Holy Qurobo, His Holiness ordained Rev. Dn. Imad Al-Banna into priesthood.
Rev. Fr. Imad Al-Banna thanked His Holiness for ordaining him and spoke about the great responsibility of becoming a priest, a spiritual leader of a community of believers. He asked the Lord to strengthen him and help him in his new life, pastoring to His flock. He also pledged to remain loyal to the Church and faithful to her teachings. He spoke about his Christian education when he was in Mosul and thanked all who contributed to his upbringing, especially his parents and family.
