On Sunday, November 7, 2021, His Eminence Mor Justinos Boulous Safar the Archbishop Patriarchal Vicar of Zahle and Bekaa celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, NJ assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun in the presence of our beloved Archbishop, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak. Archbishop Kawak welcomed Archbishop Justinos and told him that the doors of the Mor Aphrem Center are always open to him and it is considered his home. His Eminence Mor Justinos Boulous first thanked His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak for receiving him as a brother in a warm and welcome way. His Eminence then delivered his sermon and spoke about the renewal of the Church by mentioning this Sunday has many meanings for our spiritual life, and that Jesus established His church after He said to Peter:
“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it”(Matthew 16:18)
Archbishop Justinos reminded the congregation that “the renewal of the church is not just the building but is everybody who believes and is baptized and one should always renew their faith, and life because we are so busy with many things in this world.”
He then concluded by explaining the difficult situations that are going on in Syria and Lebanon and the hardships that our Suryoye are going through and he asked for prayers from the faithful.
