On Monday, November 16, 2021, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak accompanied by Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi led the members of RU Suryoyo Student organization at Rutgers University in a spiritual night. During the event, His Eminence spoke to the youth about the renewal of the Church and how despite Peter denying Jesus he was still forgiven by the Lord. Archbishop Kawak touched on the crucial topics like how the church is not just a building and it is the living people who the spirit of Christ, and the youth of RU Suryoyo are part of that. The members of the organization were reminded to follow the example of Peter and to start their faith anew. The evening concluded with a Q&A where His Eminence and Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi addressed questions that centered around the sacrament of confession, the effect of the pandemic in their spiritual lives, and what it means to be a member of the living body of Christ.The first spiritual gathering of this group was led by Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi and Rev. Fr. Gabriel Alkass.The organization is planning to hold more spiritual nights in the future. All the Suryoye attending Rutgers University, in New Brunswick are encouraged to join the Holy Liturgy that will be held at St. John Bar Aphtonia, 189 George St, New Brunswick, NJ, Sunday, November 21st at 2:00 pm.
