Holy Liturgy Second Sunday After Christmas

5 Jan

On Sunday, January 2, 2022, His Eminence celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Mark’s Cathedral assisted by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Alkass in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun and Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Shabo. Archbishop Kawak spoke about and concentrated on the feast of the circumcision of our Lord and the New Year. His Eminence told the faithful how it is not a requirement for other religions including Christianity, because our Lord Jesus Christ abolished this custom of circumcision and replaced it with the sacrament of Baptism. Archbishop Kawak mentioned that during Baptism a circumcision takes place but is not an actual physical one, rather the Baptism cuts off the from the evil of this world, and our commitment is to obey the Lord.
