3 Jan

On Sunday, January 1, 2023, New Year’s Day morning His Holiness our beloved Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the Holy Liturgy celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun in the presence of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, NJ.

Fr. Joseph in his sermon first welcomed His Holiness to his home and then spoke about the two feasts that are celebrated this day which are the Circumcision of our Lord and the feast of St. Basil and St. Gregory.

His Holiness then spoke to the faithful by first wishing them all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with peace in their hearts, lives, and around the world. His Holiness prayed that the struggles get less, the hunger ends, and happiness comes back into the lives of those in the Middle East. He concluded by thanking the congregation for their generosity and spoke about the situation in Syria and Lebanon.
