On Monday, April 17, 2023, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated Easter Monday (Yawmo d Thnahto) at Mor Gabriel Syriac Orthodox Church in Haworth, NJ, in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Aziz Hadodo, the Parish Priest and Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Shabo.
His Eminence blessed the congregation and wished them all a blessed Resurrection Day. In his sermon he spoke about how a person can have a stumbling block in front of them which causes them to live in sin, but he explained to the faithful that if one realizes what causes them to sin and removes it from their lives they will be in the path of the Lord.
He also mentioned that our Syriac Orthodox Church has a beautiful tradition that on this day we visit the cemeteries to pray for our departed ones.
