On Sunday, April 23, 2023, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy at the parish of the Virgin Mary in Paramus, New Jersey, on the occasion of the New Sunday assisted by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Alkass and in the presence of V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Shabo.
In his sermon he briefly talked about St. Thomas and wished the parishioners a blessed Resurrection feast of our Lord Jesus Christ. His Eminence then decorated Fr. Gabriel Alkass with the holy cross as a token of appreciation for his service. Fr. Gabriel then thanked our Almighty Lord and His Eminence for the Holy Cross, promising the parish to work hard in serving them.
At the end of the Holy Liturgy, His Eminence welcomed Mr. Elie Raheb and Mr. Mikhael Dunya from Spread Life-Lebanon. He gave them the chance to speak about their organization and the work they do helping the poor and the needy. Concluding their presentation, Mr. Elie and Mikhael invited the Youth to join them in a mission trip to Lebanon.
