On Friday, May 12, 2023, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun and Very Rev. Fr. Anton Sabha and in the presence of many of the clergy of the Archdiocese, celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. John the Baptist Syriac Orthodox Church in Villa Park, Illinois and elevated Rev. Fr. Yacoub Samer Youhanoun to the rank of Chorepiscopus (Khouroyo).
In his speech, Very Rev. Fr. Yacoub Samer Youhanoun thanked our Almighty Lord for His blessings, His Eminence Archbishop Kawak for surprising him with this occasion on his elevation and finally he thanked each and everyone who attended the celebration, along with his family.
After the Holy Liturgy, the Parish Council prepared a banquet for the occasion in honor of V. Rev. Fr. Yacoub Samer Youhanoun.
