On Sunday, October 1, 2023, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, assisted by V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, New Jersey.
In his sermon, His Eminence delivered his message on “Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath” from Mark 2:23-28. He explained what we can learn from this passage that as believers, we should always be able to defend our doctrines, beliefs, and behaviors by using the Word of God. He then went on to remind them that Christ, our Savior, is the Lord of the Sabbath and when God established the Sabbath day, He established it for the benefit of man; it was made to help us, not to hurt us.
