Under the Auspices of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, on Saturday, October 28, 2023 the first annual Neurodiversity walkathon took place on the Mor Aphrem Center grounds. With the intention to raise support and awareness for our neurodivergent Sunday School students.
Over 150 parishioners joined together to walk for the cause. The event was sponsored by the Archdiocese Educational Programs committee, and kicked off with a prayer from His Eminence Mor Augeen Alkhouri Nimat and V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun.
A few words from Chairwoman Christa Darakjy, Special Needs Sunday school teacher Tiffany Hannawi, and from parents of these wonderful children. It was a beautiful morning filled with community, music, food, a balloon artist and activities for kids! All are invited to join next year!
