Mor Philoxenus of Mabug Symposium at the Mor Aphrem Center, Paramus, New Jersey
On Saturday, December 2, 2023, a Symposium commemorating the 15th Century of Mor Philoxenus of Mabug was held at the Mor Aphrem Center in Paramus, New Jersey.
The symposium was organized by the Archdiocese of the Syriac Orthodox Church for the Eastern United States, Beth Mardutho: The Syriac Institute, and the Convener’s who prepared were His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, His Eminence Mor Severius Roger-Youssef Akhrass, and Malfono George A. Kiraz.
They began the symposium with morning prayers, followed by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak’s welcoming message. The rich conference program included speakers in this order:

Commemoration of Mor Philoxenus of Mabug ended with the Sunday Holy Liturgy on December 3rd, 2023, celebrated by His Eminence Mor Severius Roger-Youssef Akhrass in the presence of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, and V. Rev. Fr. Josph Chamoun at St. Mark’s Cathedral.
