Under the Auspices and in the presence of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mor Aphrem Center organized a pilgrimage trip to India where they visited New Delhi and the state of Kerala and they joined His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II in celebrating the anniversary of Mor Ignatius Elias Shaker III, who was declared a Saint by Patriarch Zakka I in 1987.
The memory of the holy Patriarch is honored throughout the Syriac Orthodox Church and especially in Malankara where thousands of pilgrims reach the tomb by foot on the annual feast day, February 13, from various parts of Kerala state. The pilgrimage continued in India by visiting various Syriac Orthodox Churches and Monasteries.
The trip was then concluded by also traveling to Dubai where the group met our Patriarchal Vicar, His Eminence Mor Barthelmaus Nathanael Youssef, Patriarchal Vicar in the United Arab Emirates, and the Arabian Gulf Countries.
