On Sunday, March 17, 2024, Their Eminence’s Mor Dionysius John Kawak and Mor Clemis Daniel Kouriea led the Holy Liturgy at Mor Gabriel Church in Haworth, New Jersey. During the Qurobo, new Deaconess (Mzamronyotho) were ordained. His Eminence Mor Dionysius first welcomed His Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, and then spoke about the important role of a Deaconess in the Church. He congratulated the families and the newly ordained Deaconess on this special day.
Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh delivered the sermon and talked about the reading of the day, which was the first miracle Jesus performed at the wedding of Cana. He explained how this event showed Jesus’ humility and goodness, and how He always served the people. He concluded the sermon by saying that just as Jesus changed water into wine, we pray that Jesus also changes our sins and transgressions into goodness.
