On April 12-13, 2024, the Suryoyto Women’s Committee held their fifth annual Women’s Cornerstone Retreat at the Mor Aphrem Center in Paramus, NJ, for twenty-four hours of spiritual enrichment.
The day began with morning prayers led by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak. After the prayers, His Eminence opened the retreat by offering uplifting and spiritual reflections on the retreat’s theme which was from Mathew 7:7 – “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” The event drew in seventeen new sisters from various parishes across the Archdiocese, committee members, and twenty-two volunteers from previous years.
The program included a Bible Study focusing on the theme, conducted by His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak.
The program also included spiritual and team-building activities that allowed the women to reflect on their relationship with God and make new friends. The participants were able to disconnect from their daily lives and connect with their faith in Christian fellowship in an encouraging and non-judgmental environment.
