On Monday, April 22, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, accompanied by V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, attended the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches (SCOOCh). The meeting was held at the Virgin Mary & St. Pachomius Coptic Orthodox Church in Stony Point, NY, and was hosted by His Grace Bishop David, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York & New England.
During the meeting, the attendees discussed and deliberated on certain church matters that are important to the faith and community. They exchanged ideas, and there emerged a spirit of unity, cooperation, and shared vision, reaffirming the collective dedication to the timeless values and traditions that bind them together as a communion of believers.
After the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees gathered for an agape meal, where they shared food, fellowship, and the enduring bonds of brotherhood that characterize the cherished Oriental Orthodox family.
