On Thursday, May 2, 2024, on the evening of Holy Thursday, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the rite of the Washing of the feet in the presence of Very Rev. Joseph Shabo and V. Rev. Fr. Aziz Hadodo at Mor Gabriel Church in Haworth, New Jersey.
His Eminence washed the feet of twelve people representing the twelve disciples. He spoke to the faithful and encouraged them to be humble the way our Lord and Savior were.
His Eminence went on by reminding the faithful that Jesus calls us not just to serve, but to serve humbly, to take upon ourselves the lowest tasks to support and uplift one another.
He concluded by congratulating all those who were representing the twelve disciples.
