On Sunday, June 16, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak paid a pastoral visit to Mor Philoxenus of Mabug Parish in Roanoke, VA, and celebrated the Holy Liturgy assisted by Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Barakat on the occasion of the Ascension.
In his sermon, he spoke about how we should lift our eyes, minds, and thoughts towards our Lord Jesus Christ. He emphasized that as Jesus ascended into heaven, He opened the way for us to follow, assuring us that He is always with us.
His Eminence encouraged the faithful to always look up to Jesus, drawing inspiration and strength from His example and teachings. He reminded everyone that by focusing on Christ, we can navigate life’s challenges with faith and confidence, knowing that our Savior has triumphed over sin and death and prepares a place for us in His eternal kingdom
