Under the auspices of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, the Suryoyo Youth Gathering (SYG-USA) took place from June 20-23, 2024, hosted by St. Athanasius Parish in Tarpon Springs, FL. This year’s event theme was “The Spirit Gives Life,” inspired by John 6:63.
Youth from both the Eastern and Western Archdioceses and participants from Canada and Europe gathered to deepen their encounter with Jesus Christ and experience the fullness of Christianity in our Syriac Orthodox faith. The event also included various Spiritual and outdoor social activities, fostering fellowship and community.
On Sunday, June 23, the Holy Liturgy was celebrated by Their Eminences, Mor Dionysius John Kawak and Mor Andrawos Bahhi, assisted by Rev. Fr. Alan Shaltan and Rev. Fr. Anthony Andrews, marking the conclusion of the gathering.
His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, and Rev. Fr. Alan Shaltan along with all the youth from the Eastern Archdiocese, extends heartfelt gratitude to all the Clergy who have attended the SYG during these past few days. V. Rev. Fr. Anton Sabha, V. Rev. Fr. Maroutha Hanna, Rev. Fr. Aphram Al Faham, Rev. Fr. Imad Al-Banna, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Hanna from the Western Archdiocese and Fr. Anthony Andrews from our Sister Coptic Orthodox Church.
