On Sunday morning, July 21, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Athanasius Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida. In his sermon, he spoke about Feeding the Five Thousand from Matthew 14:13-21).
He mentioned that this was one of the most profound miracles, which showed us our Lord Jesus Christ’s boundless compassion and taught us valuable lessons about faith, provision, and God’s grace.
His Eminence reminded the faithful that we often feel a lack in our lives, thinking that what we have is too little to make a difference, but Jesus teaches us that no gift is too small when offered in faith. He concluded by telling them that just as Jesus was moved with compassion for the crowds, we too are called to show compassion to those around us.
