On Sunday, July 14, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. Ephraim Church in Central Falls, Rhode Island.
In his sermon he spoke about how we should have honor in our own house, and mentioned the Bible verse from Mark 6:4 “But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his relatives, and his own house.”
His Eminence concluded by saying it is essential to remember that Jesus Himself faced rejection and dishonor from those closest to Him, yet, He continued His mission with love and perseverance. That’s why we are called to do the same.
May we always honor each other, recognizing the divine potential in everyone, especially those we think we know well.
