On Sunday, August 11, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy assisted by Rev. Fr. Gabriel Alkass, in the presence of V. Rev. Fr. John Alkhoury at the Parish of the Virgin Mary in Paramus, New Jersey.
His Eminence delivered a sermon on the “Dangers of Division” from the passage of Mark 3: 20-30. He emphasized the importance of unity within the home, church and the community, reminding the faithful that division can weaken our spiritual foundation and get in the way of our collective mission. It is also a reminder of the need to remain steadfast in our faith, working together in harmony to fulfill the teachings of Christ.
He concluded by saying Let us follow our Lord’s words, “A divided house
cannot stand.” Instead, let us seek unity in Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to bind us in love and truth In doing so, we will stand firm, reflecting God’s glory to a world that desperately needs His peace and presence.
