On Sunday, September 15, 2024 His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy assisted by V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun at St. Mark’s Cathedral in Paramus, NJ and he ordained new Deacons, Readers (Qoruye) and Sub-Deacons (Afidyakne)
In his sermon His Eminence first reminded the newly ordained deacons and told them as deacons, you are now positioned at the heart of the Church’s mission, exemplifying Christ’s love and humility through your service to the altar and to the people.
He then went on by reminding them by saying, to remain steadfast in the sacraments, and to immerse yourself in the Holy Scriptures, and seek the prayers of the saints—especially St. Stephen, the first deacon and martyr, whose life was a shining example of faith and love for Christ.
His Eminence then concluded by congratulating the families of the newly ordained deacons.
