Orthodox Fellowship

19 Nov

On Monday evening November 11, with the blessing of His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Shamosho Joseph Shammas and Shamosho Stephen Mourad visited Seton Hall University at the invitation of ‘Orthodox Fellowship’, a university club for Oriental Orthodox students. At the gather, Shamosho Joseph and Shamosho Stephen presented a discussion titled “What is a Eucharistic Life in College”. The gathering was attended by students of various Oriental churches, including our own Syriac Orthodox students, as well as some visiting youth from neighboring universities.

Shamosho Joseph explained the mission of students in college, beyond studying and graduating, is to live and share the Holy Eucharist daily by living the Resurrection and bearing witness the Good News both in actions and words, thereby being good missionaries for Christ bringing other students, His lost sheep, to the One Holy Apostolic Orthodox Church on campus. The evening concluded with a Q&A, fellowship, then prayers and meditation in the university chapel.
