On Sunday, December 1st, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, the cathedral’s pastor, and Very Rev. Fr. Aziz Hadodo on the occasion of the visitation of the Virgin Mary to her relative Elizabeth.
In his sermon, Archbishop Kawak addressed several significant points, emphasizing that the Virgin Mary is the Mother of God. He highlighted the importance of learning from her faith, humility and trust in God’s promises. He also spoke about respecting human life from the moment of conception, underscoring the sanctity of human life and the need to protect it from conception to natural death.
This celebration reflects the Church’s commitment to honoring the Virgin Mary and following her virtues, while reaffirming core Christian values of respect for life and human dignity.
During the Holy Liturgy H. E. Kawak recognized the Sunday School students and teachers of the month.
