Thank you to everyone who made SOAYO’s first “Homeless Run” a success!
On Sunday, January 26, a small group of youth came together at the Archdiocese to prepare bags of food and snacks for the homeless in Paterson. Each bag carried nourishment and a spiritual message, reminding our brothers and sisters in Christ to hold on to faith. This was our first step in giving back to the community, and part of the Youth’s larger effort to building up and giving back to communities near the archdiocese and local parishes. Contact the Youth Spiritual Advisor or SOAYO if you’re interested in learning more, we are so excited for what’s to come!
We invite all youth from our local Orthodox parishes to join us in future initiatives—let’s continue to share Christ with everyone we come in contact with and make a difference for His glory “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’” Matthew 25:37-40 NKJV
