Holy Liturgy at Sts. Peter and Paul

On Sunday, June 29, 2025, His Eminence Archbishop Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Qurobo at Sts. Peter & Paul Syriac Orthodox Church in Southfield, Michigan. He was assisted by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Imad Al Banna, and the youth priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Shammas.

The celebration marked a joyous and spiritually uplifting occasion as the faithful gathered to honor the Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul, the patron saints of the parish.

During the Holy Qurobo, His Eminence ordained new servants to the Holy Altar of God, including Singers (Mzamrone), Readers (Qoruye), and Subdeacons (Afudyaqne). This sacred moment enriched the spiritual life of the parish and demonstrated the growing commitment of its families to serve Christ and His Holy Church.

Following the ordination, His Eminence, together with the clergy and faithful, offered the Service of the Saints, seeking the intercessions of St. Peter and St. Paul for the continued guidance and protection of the parish.

After the Holy Qurobo, the entire parish community gathered on the church grounds for a joyful festival in honor of the Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul. During the festivities, the parish recognized and honored students who had completed grade school, college, and postgraduate degrees a testament to the parish’s commitment to both spiritual and academic growth.
