Holy Liturgy | Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary

11 May

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, his Eminence Archbishop Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, assisted at the altar by Rev. Fr. Joseph Shammas, in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun.

In his homily, he reminded the faithful that the birth of the Virgin Mary is not a small event but a turning point in salvation history. The Fathers of the Church teach us that she is the Burning Bush that carried the divine fire without being consumed, the Ladder of Jacob uniting heaven and earth, and the Ark of the Covenant, the true dwelling place of God’s presence. In her womb, she bore Christ: the Living Word who fulfills the Law, the eternal High Priest who conquers death, and the Bread of Life who grants us salvation

May the prayers of the Most Holy Virgin Mary strengthen our families, fill our hearts with peace, and lead us always to her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
