On Friday, December 24, 2021, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak presided the Holy Liturgy celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, at St. Mark’s Cathedral, in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Shabo, Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi and Rev. Fr. Gabriel Alkass. Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun delivered his sermon about Jesus being the Light shining into the darkness of our world. He mentioned that this is the reason we decorate our Christmas trees and homes with lights during this season, symbolizing Christ being the Light of the world.On the same evening, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated Christmas Eve Holy Liturgy in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi and Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun at the Church of the Virgin Mary Parish in Paramus, New Jersey. His Eminence spoke to the faithful about answering two questions in his sermon “how do we celebrate Christmas?” and why do we celebrate it?”
