On Sunday, March 13, 2022, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy at St. George Church in Brooklyn, New York, in the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel Adde the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, and Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Bahhi. His Eminence delivered his sermon about the healing of the Leper and asked the congregation to do as Jesus did to accept and be a helping hand to the needy, marginalized and the outcast. He then spoke about Mor Aphrem and his humbleness and mentioned that he was the first to start a women’s choir in the Christian Church. His Eminence then congratulated His Holiness our Patriarch and all who carry Mor Aphrem’s name. At the end of the Liturgy a special service was celebrated to commemorate the late Rev. Fr. Aphrem Adde the brother of Very Rev. Fr. Gabriel Adde.
