On September 13th and 14th, 2023, His Eminence paid a pastoral visit to St. Athanasius Syriac Orthodox Parish in Tarpon Springs, FL. He met with the Youth Committee on Wednesday evening in order to prepare for the upcoming SYG-USA 2024.
On Thursday evening, on the occasion of the feast of the discovery of the Holy Cross, His Eminence assisted by Rev. Fr. Alan Shaltan the Parish Priest, presided over a spiritual night service (Shahro). The Church had the faithful gathered to celebrate the feast and during his sermon, Archbishop Kawak gave an overview of the history of this important feast and its spiritual impact on the life of the faithful.
After the service His Eminence and Abuna Alan along with the faithful went outside to light the fire celebrating this meaningful occasion of the exaltation of the Holy Cross being discovered.
