On Friday, June 28th, 2024, His Eminence Mor Dionysius John Kawak celebrated the Holy Liturgy on the occasion of the Friday of the Gold at the Mor Aphrem Center in the chapel at Paramus, NJ.
In his sermon from Acts 3:1-16, His Eminence reflected on the healing of the lame beggar by Peter and John at the temple gate that was called Beautiful in Jerusalem. He reminded the faithful that Peter speaks about healing through the name of Jesus Christ, pointing out that faith in Jesus is the source of the miracle. He explained that this event led to Peter preaching to the people, and that repentance and faith in Jesus bring forgiveness of sins and restoration.
He concluded by congratulating all those who carry the names of Peter and Paul reminding them what a blessing it is to us all of the strength of their names.
