On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, V. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamoun, Shamosho Joseph Shammas, Shamosho Rami Malaab and Shamosho Christopher Karim continued the Shamoshe (Deacon) Training at St. Mark’s Cathedral and Mor Aphrem Chapel in Paramus, New Jersey.
Abuna Joseph Chamoun continued with the older Shamoshe the Nqum Shafir (Let us Stand Well) along with Mo Dhiloy (How Solemn is this Hour), The Cannon of the Mother of God and the Saints and the Cannon of the Faithful Departed with the third tune and the sixth tune.
Shamosho Christopher Karim showed the older Shamoshe how and when to use the Censer during morning prayers.
The young shamoshe started by reviewing last week’s material: the meaning of the candles, where to stand and how to move during the liturgy. The session continued with an explanation of the liturgical fans (shakers) used by deacons during the liturgy. They each practiced how to use them and when to use them.
